  • Atuabo Gas plant to be shut down

The Atuabo Gas Processing Plant in the Western region will be shut down for 10 days for maintenance, the Ghana National Gas Company Limited (Ghana Gas) has announced.

A statement by Alfred Agbamey, Corporate Communications Manager of Ghana Gas stated that scheduled maintenance will begin on Wednesday, 31 August.

“The plant has been in operation for more than 12,000 hours since pre-commissioning and commissioning activities in 2014 necessitating a mandatory maintenance of the facility.”

The release added: “The mandatory outage is required by original equipment manufacturers of certain critical components in the gas processing plant on a periodic basis”.

The statement added the maintenance period is necessary to “facilitate warranty assurance on the installed equipment and the validity of operating insurance cover.”
