  • Kotoko share honours with Aduana Stars

    Kotoko dominated possession in each half of the game, but Aduana Stars defended effectively and mapped up a delaying tactics to frustrate Kotoko and in the end walked away with a point.

    Asante Kotoko were able to swing their passes together to the to the light of their teaming fans who trooped to the stadium with high expectation, due to their weekend 0-2 win against Liberty Professionals at Dansoman.

    However, they couldn’t translate their high pressing game on the evening into goals.

    The likes of Dauda Mohammed, Kwame Boateng, Emmanuel Gyamfi Eric Donkor were able to hold on to the ball, but Aduana Stars defence were resolute to prevent them from going through and also they were wasteful on some occasions.

    Frank Sarfo Gyamfi who came on for Eric Donkor could have won the day for Kotoko, but he wasted Stephen Nyarko’s Stephen Nyarko through ball that located him in the closing minute.

    Aduana Stars are still lying above Kotoko with a point separating them on the league log.

     

  • AshGold beat Liberty Professionals 2-0

    AshGold continued their newly found form in the second round, as they edged Liberty Professionals 2-0 at the Len Clay Sports Stadium Obuasi on match day 25 of the Ghana Premier League.

    Mumuni Shafiu broke the deadlock in the first half, before Emmanuel Osei Baffour put the game beyond the reach of the Scientific Soccer lads in the second half.

    Latif Blessing who was determined to score prior to the game couldn’t walk the talk as he failed to increase his goal tally. He is on 13 goals, trailing Yahaya Mohammed the leading top scorer by a goal.

    Emmanuel Osei Baffour was adjudged the man of the match for his fabulous performance on the evening.

    Ashanti Gold have lost just a game in the second half of the season, having won 5 and drawn 4 in the process, unlike the first round that they found it difficult to win games.

    Bottom club, New Edubiase United stunned all football loving fans when they picked up all the three points from the dreaded Nana Ameyaw Park on Wednesday against Techiman City to revive their hopes of avoiding relegation.

    Scorers: Kofi Yeboah scored first for Wa All Stars and Samuel Yeboah snatched the equaliser for Hearts

  • Coach Adepa: I’m disappointed with our results against Hearts

    Head coach of Wa All Stars has indicated that the 1-1 draw against Hearts of Oak wasn’t a true reflection of the game, per the performance his charges put up on the evening.

    Kofi Yeboah put the Wa lads in the driving seat, before his namesake Sam Yeboah drew level for the Phobians at the Wa Park on Wednesday.

    Anos Adepa has stated that his team dominated play and should have earned all the three points involved.

    “I am disappointed with the results of the game, because we controlled it and created a lot of opportunities. Hearts of Oak are lucky for walking away with a point,” he said after the game.

    Wa All Stars are sitting on top of the Ghana Premier league ladder with 42 points, with 5 matches to end the season.
