Kotoko‘ll be ready for Africa – Pollack

Head coach of Asante Kotoko, Steve Pollack, has disclosed that his team will be well prepared before next year’s CAF Confederations Cup kicks off.

The Porcupine Warriors booked the only slot available for the country after they defeated their arch-rivals, Hearts of Oak, by 3-1 in the 2017 MTN FA Cup final that was staged at the Tamale Sports Stadium last week Sunday.

Despite their torrid campaign in the just ended Ghana Premier League, the former Berekum Chelsea gaffer said they will be ready for the competition next season.

“For me, I think it is going to be a huge challenge for us and I love challenges, but you need to get the right players that will take you far,” he told Class Sports.

“I don’t know what the target will be, but being realistic, everybody will want us to be in the finals but you have to look at your personnel. Are we good enough? Are the staff good enough? Are the players good enough? We need to take a look at that. Of course, we have to strengthen the team. But personally, I will be physically, mentally and tactically ready for the CAF Confederations Cup next season,” he added.
