Aayalolo drivers on strike

Workers of Ayalolo Bus Rapid Transport Service at Ofankor in Accra are on strike over their two months’ unpaid salary arrears.

According to them, there is a problem with their pay system which has caused the problem.

The aggrieved workers who declared the strike on Wednesday, 1 November 2017 said they intend to petition management over the issue.

Leader of the workers at the Ofankor Bus Terminal, Forster Wiafe Omari told Class News they will continue to be on strike until their outstanding arrears are paid.

He said: “We are having some challenges concerning our payment system. Sometimes when the month ends, we won’t hear anything from the authorities until sometime 20th of the next month. That is when we see that half pay has hit our accounts…So far we have two months’ arrears. …We were paid half of our salaries…”

He noted that the workers have documented their grievances and will present them to management for redress.
